DISABLED PEOPLE ON THE WAY TO SAN JACOPO
Our path does not lend itself well to those faced by disabilities; at least in the route that is proposed. This is due to the route passing some particularly inaccessible and narrow stretches and from some stretches that have excessive slopes. Even with assistance of a guide some stretches will be extremely challenging.
Some hospitality is to be considered accessible, first of all the Valpromaro hostel. We will indicate others as soon as possible.
A project by the municipal administration of Pistoia and some local associations is in the pipeline for an accessible and assisted path within the San Jacopo Way.
“ACCESSIBLE LUCCA” PROJECT
The Luccasenzabarriere Association proposes and supports the project through which it intends to promote greater awareness on the issue of accessibility for all people with disabilities and to stimulate an opportunity to concretely realize this right. In collaboration with ANFFAS Lucca is committed to ensuring that all public establishments, public structures and infrastructures can adapt to current regulations (law 13/89) and that, in this way, both accessibility and mobility are guaranteed. for all citizens of the area and also for visitors. An application is being developed – senzabarriere.app – which will allow all users to see the commercial establishments (public and private) and the points of interest that are accessible depending on the type of disability of the person carrying out the search.
